  He won the la sole seat summoned by the opposition contest to represent the young generation of Cuban guitarists in the "Primer Encuentro Internacional de Guitarristas de América Latina y el Caribe" (First International Meeting of Latin American and Caribbean Guitarists), arranged by Casa de Las Américas from Cuba.
  (Then he played the Twelve Studies by Héitor Villa-Lobos in the second part of the program, and six waltzes by Antonio Lauro and other works in the second)
